Leak

Hi guys my car leaks exhaust gas from the turbo to the down pipe when the engine is under load. I have been told that there is no gasket between the turbo and the down pipe it this correct? I have checked that the bolts are tight.

Has anyone else has this problem?

There should be a gasket, you changed your DP, who fitted it??

worth checking its not the 3x 17mm bolts holding the turbo onto the manifold as well, they tend to come loose for shits and giggles...

there no gasket, unless you've had the down pipe off, its machine fit, i've had head gasket changed to had it off and had to fit a gasket!

who told you there isnt one?

there was one on mine when mine was removed and it had never previously been touched

Seat main dealer told me there was not one and so did my local seat specialist. They both told me it was machine fit I would imagine there to be a gasket though

gasket on the ones i've seen as std

some aftermarket mountings dont run them (like my current turbo to mani) but thats not factory norm tho on a DP

mine def didn't have a gasket on it when i took it off, but had to wait 3 weeks for one from seat when put dp back on, they advised putting one on gasket as they are machine fitted at first and don't need the gasket, but once you take it off they say you need to put a gasket on.

If you could mate that would be grate, the parts guy at my local seat is rubbish he said that they dont make one
