Great! Peace has broken out and all is well. I just wanted to back up what dephead has said about this forum. It is invaluable for issues and I have changed my windscreen washers from pistols to fans following advice on here. I would never have had the confidence otherwise and would have paid the dealer to do it!
We all have different issues and must remember that all comments are meant to help.

Meppershall Beds.
once you see that gartner's in a LHd drive car those pics of his beam spread are perfectly logical.....just how I used to set my old Mk1 cavalier lights in the days before you had an adjuster on the dash!
god it was grim, wasn't it? A Mk1 1300L cavalier and I thought I was someone.....better than my colleague with a 1.6L sierra.
and our sales teams with 1.3 maestro or Chevette.
Come on guys - we're ALL better off now:)

Back from dealer and no fault found and to be fair they did compare against another car, using beam pattern
check, I did have to laugh when they said no fault codes though

What a surprise.

I went to a VW dealer today with the idea of doing a trade. They offered me 18 grand for it, but my finance settlement figure is around £21K, so I'd be 3 grand down before I'd even looked at a Golf brochure. Looks like I'm stuck with it until my equity balances out...

They have offered me a loaner while they have my car a few days, have not taken them up on their offer yet.

Oh well. So, it looks like the beam pattern is fine? Which means that this particular batch of LED lights just don't have the intensity to reach as far as I would have liked.

Shame really, as they do light up the first 40-50 meters very well (white and bright), but then drops off rapidly after that.

I know that other (younger) people on this forum don't notice the lack of illumination so much, but when your age is almost half a century, you start wishing for a bit more brightness than what the Leon LEDs can deliver!

Hey I'm nearly 50 and tbh I find mine really good. Maybe the colour temperature is better for some people and not others. I have always struggled with conventional halogen light.

Another day, another fault. I was driving home from work this morning and quickly spotted I could see even less than usual. The headlight levelling had not worked and the lights were pointing down at the floor. I had to pull into a lay-by and turn off the ignition to make them go through the motions again.

Why don't you find someone else to pester and consider throwing three grand of your own money down the crapper instead of insisting I do the same?

But you seem so upset with the car, and maybe it can sense it, as no one else has had all these faults, why keep it if you ain't taking it to get it sorted, just seems like you want to punish yourself for not buying a Golf.

I feel your pain... I do love the car but the gear box message appearing twice (though apparently no fault so no action), headlights that intermittently don't level up (car back in the garage on Wednesday for the 2nd time for this fault (no fault found last time, likely the same this time) I had to turn the car on and off about 40 times one morning last week before they leveled up, no fun when running late at 5am ( screamed and swore at the car like a mad person)) and a hazard light button that gets stuck on (I've not had them address this yet). I think the sound actuator comes on by itself in comfort mode too which drives me nuts (trip to a specialist planned to turn the stupid Crazy Frog raspberry off as the dealer claims they can't do it).

I'm frustrated by the quality. having said that you get what you paid for and £24 grand in comparison to the competition was cheap :/

Perhaps, but head over to the Golf or Audi A3 forum and you will see people having issues with them too. Quite a lot of Golf R's have had blown turbo's.

One of the LEDs in my left hand headlamp has a very blue colour temperature to it, all the others in both lamps are bright white!

The colour doesn't quite seem to cut through the rain as much as my xenons did, there isnt much in it though!

Just a bit of follow up on this, I took my car in for a service about a month ago and mentioned the blue LED on the left light. After inspecting it they ordered a new headlight and I have now had it fitted. No more blue tinge on any of the LEDs and an even colour on both headlights now. They were adjusted on their beam setter but the cut off is just far too low to be safe on country roads so they have had to be adjusted up. They now sit at about the same level as a new vehicle from another brand with LED lights.

They now seem pretty good, just a shame they can't quite cut through the rain as well as the xenons on my subaru did.
