LEON 1.5 TSI DSG DEEP ROUGH NOISE around 2500rpm (video added)

Hi there, Could you help me find out if the muffled sound my engine makes around 2500rpm is normal? Maybe it's normal, but I can't be sure right now. I hear this sound when the car is in Neutral gear or driving on the road, around this RPM. Thanks for your support in advance.

I had a similar noise in my wife's diesel FR. Turned out to be a pipe rattling where it passed through the bulkhead, right behind the engine. Might be something like that.

It's hard to say from a video clip. It might be. Diesel engines are noisy although they tend to get quieter as they get older. My wife's car is now at 50K and is noticeably less rough sounding than it was when we got it.

I've listened to it again on better speakers and I don't think it's anything serious.

Thanks for your support!! My old car was 1.2 TSI Golf. It has much more soft noise. Maybe i consider that sound as reference.

Petrols are much quieter and smoother than diesels. Just a fact of life. In fact it's amazing that modern diesels are as refined as they are. As they age, noise and fuel economy improve. Another quirk of the breed.

I think my car is making a similar noise, it's a 1.4ACT dsg, 31000mls, I will have to investigate further and try to record it, not sure if it does it while stationary though.
