A few sources I checked stated 8250 rpm max for the B7 RS4 engine, but no matter. And the S65 rod bearings are pretty much a service item. As I said I like an estate and awd, there wasn't a period M3 estate, but the engine was in a better position. And with a throaty exhaust I think the BMW sounds better than the Audi at high revs.

I'm referring to B8 RS4.
8250 is max power rpm!
It continues until red line at 8500, but its academic, my personal preference, I would prefer the RS4 vs M3. Each to their own!

And I would prefer the B9 RS4 to both of them.
