Car is showing loads of warning lights; airbag, abs, oil, handbrake and now key not compatible. This has been happening over a few weeks starting with airbag warning light. Its gotten to the stage the key is not recognised by the car. I suspected the ECU may need replacing. Any idea where its located?

removed the tray under the wipers and the seals and had a look at the ecu connections. Looks like they are poorly located as water could conceivably get near them. Removed the cover cap on both of the ecu connectors and they look a little misty on the inside! On the drivers side of the water run off tray is loads of leaves and is wet along with a couple of wires. The car suffers from the dodgy door seal problem. I wonder if this is a problem also?

mine wouldnt start after i gave car to garage for valeting

when i initaily drove off it hit like a limp move where the car wouldnt hit 1200 rpm , had to drive home 25 plus miles like that , turned out the ecu got wet , left car for few days and it dried out

fairplay seat , **** place for an ECu location

but as above thats where its located

i know could have said vag , but they put a name on it ' Seat ' lol

same as the fuse board , what bright spark though of putting it between the door and dash ?? if the fuse 38 blew , and your deadlocks was stuck on , how you supposed to open them to replace

Could a water damaged ECU result in an unresponsive throttle? If so does anyone know how I can go about fixing it?

massive thanks in advance if anyone can help
