Leon fr 1.4 test drive

Test drove a leon fr 1.4 ecotsi 2016 with 32k on the clock earlier. Really impressed with the performance etc. Really smooth with good power. I noticed that the clutch bites quite low and your away, is that normal?

Biting low is fine, biting high means the friction pads are worn.

Mine does that the clutch bite is about a third up from the bottom.
It's not slow I was surprised by how quick it was and how much grunt there is from loww revs for a 150 bhp car.
Don't get me wrong it's no cupra but it's not a lot slower than a 1.8 Leon.

The 1.4 is a solid little unit. I've had one for over 6 months now and it runs great. Pokier than you'd expect. A low bite point means there's plenty of life left on the clutch.

Thank you all. Yeah compared to my 2009 focus 1.6 it was flying. Even pulled OK from 60mph in 6th on the flat. I was thinking that it's missing something though, maybe in the styling department. FRs used to really stand out but these Leons don't have boot spoiler or side skirts which I think would make it look better. Someone said that you can buy a spoiler from SEAT in the car color but not sure about that.

The titanium spec gives you a roof spoiler,side skirts, titanium mirror caps and 18" alloys and cost a bit more.

You can fit spoilers etc after. I've fitted a OEM spoiler to mine and it looks much better.

Yeah it is OEM, it wasn't painted I got it sprayed seperately.

The spoiler is the aero one I think, the rear diffuser is the Maxton Design one for the cupra. As mines the facelift I had to get the cupra one to get correct fitment.

On the one I am looking at it has led front lights. What type of rear lights does it have??? Led or normal.

Pretty sure there all LED on mine. What year is the one you're looking at? 2017 onwards should be the facelift model

If its got LED front light the back lights will be LED too as per the photo you attached.
