Hello all, i'm looking for opinions on this! I put my 56 plate 170 fr into Seat on Friday last week to have the injectors replaced through the recall put out by Seat, up until this point the car has never been in a garage for a repair apart from servicing (all up to date), tyres and brakes. I got the car back later that day, felt it was running well and more responsive than before. On Sunday and after using the car for around 40 miles it cut out and wouldn't start. Luckily a passenger was a member of one of our road side recovery services, when he arrived a few things were tested, he checked the injector switching and said it was not correct and possibly that was the fault. He also noticed the timing belt cover wasn't on correctly but put that down to Seat working on the injectors.
The car was taken back to Seat on Monday and looked at yesterday, I got a phone call from them yesterday afternoon telling me the camshaft position sensor was faulty and it was nowhere near the area they were working in, purely coincidence! The repair would be £470.
Is this just a coincidence or would it be possible to damage the sensor whilst working on the vehicle?
