Hi

Does any one know if the paddle shift is fitted as standard to the Leon FR 2.0 TSI DSG or is it available as a dealer fitted option

Thanks in advance

Standard factory fit on the FR DSG petrol, the dealers don't do it.

I'm not sure where you're going with this, but for info. The Stylance 140 diesel has DSG but doesn't have the paddles, the FR 170 diesel can't have DSG in a SEAT. There was some talk 3rd party retro fit paddles a while ago but outside the UK I think, and it sounded expensive.

Factory fit only - its an option when you spec the car. I think it costs about £1000 extra.

Thanks for the replies

I am hoping that the paddle shift comes as standard on the FR DSG Petrol
as i can not find it listed on the Seat web site as an option ?
and i need to make sure before i order it. my local dealer says its a dealer fitted option

It is not standard on the Petrol, I can assure you of that.

You will not find it as an option because it is an entirely different base car! When you look at the SEAT website, you can either select:

Leon FR 2.0 TSI 200PS 17.505 £
Leon FR 2.0 TSI 200PS DSG 18.505 £
Leon FR 2.0 TDI 170PS 17.955 £

The only one which comes with the paddles, is the Leon FR 2.0 TSI 200PS DSG and it is, like I thought, £1000 more than the equivalent manual.

But its way dearer and of course no DSG.............

Besides, no one outside this board can tell a Cupra from an FR.

DSG for me.

After driving the stick shift and the DSG it was no contest, the manuals nice but the DSG makes the Leon something different, special and more racey. Having DSG available makes the Leon stand out from other hatches in the 15-20K bracket, and its only an £800 option. I can't understand why they don't offer it on the Cupra, unless VW are concerned about unfavourable price comparisons with the Golf GTI.

Each to their own though, I can understand its not for everyone.

Would like a Cupra but its a company car and the insurance group is to high
I do wish it was available on the FR Diesel
as i do 150 miles a day 5 days a week and have a FR Diesel at the moment
It looks like it's time for a test drive

Yes I suppose the only people who know its the Cupra are the people behind you who see the badge disappearing into the sunset. I suppose the extra grand may be slightly difficult to justify, I mean, all you get is an upgraded engine with beefed up components such as valves, con rods, crank etc, bigger wheels, bigger and better brakes, upgraded suspension, better seats all put together by hand in the SEAT CupraSport factory, oh and yes, I nearly forgot....... at least an extra 40BHP although most rolling road tests would show it to be nearer 60BHP extra. Mmmmm difficult choice, especially when you think that after a year the Cupra would be worth a mere £3,000 more than the DSG.

Don't get me wrong, the DSG is a nice car, I take on board that if you can't have a Cupra as a company car it is an alternative, its fairly quick and the paddle shift is fun for a while, I've one for a month but hardly touched the paddles after the first couple of weeks. I'm sure my dad would enjoy it as he likes autos, I'm just not old enough for one yet, I'm "only" 49!

On the A5 Friday night as I was keeping in touch with a 3.2 carbon roofed TT and a 03 plate M3 cabriolet at double the limit do you really think I'd have swapped my Cupra for a TSi DSG? Not on your Nellie!!!
