Leon FR Outside Temperature Audio Warning

Quick question.

When I first start up my motor, my dash display shows the frost symbol as it should when the temp drops below a certain level. However, when I pull away, there is no audio alarm to warn me of the frost outside although the manual states it should.

The book states you need to be doing over 20kmh before the alarm sounds, however, I have been above this speed again with no audio warning.

Is it the case that the audio warning will not sound because I have already had a visual warning or that it only gives the audio warning after your car has been inactive for a few hours (ie memory reset) I only noticed I had no audio warning about an hour ago.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

As far as I am aware, it only gives an audio 'bong' when driving and it drops too or below 4 degrees. If it's already less then 4 degrees when you start your car, no noise sounds

Mine's exactly the same (58)...get the flashing display on start up but no 'bong'.....but do get the 'bong' if the temp drops to 4C or below while I'm driving along (as it did last night).

Mines a FL 09 FR TDI and again if it's already below 4deg there's no audible bong. You only get the audible warning if the temp drops to 4deg or below whilst driving.

If it's 4 degrees or less when I put the key in the ignition and turn it on, I get a bong. If I'm driving along and the temperature drops to 4 degrees or less, I get a bong.
It'll do that every time the temp drops below 4 regardless if it's happened already on the same drive.
