So new car came today and the first thing I want to do is to tweak the audio a little bit, as the sound is quite flat (I have come from a very premium system in my old 2007 Focus, that was a special by Sony, to integrate with the touch-screen system etc).

I've made a slight adjustment for mids/bass and it seems better, but wondered if there were any optimal set-ups that someone might know of? Even pre-sets wouldn't be too bad, but I am not seeing them immediately!

Cheers in advance,
jag

Although no responses, my best bet has been to just turn it up louder. The stock audio is a bit weak until you put some volume through it, which then means it comes alive!

No complaints per se, but it's almost like it isn't really on, until you crank it up - particularly bass and mids.

So tweek the bass & mids up a little

I did; at low volume, it sounds better, but then gets a bit distorted at higher volumes. It's not ideal really but I am sure I will learn to cope. Just a shame that it is not consistent through the volume range!

Have you set the system up so the volume goes up with car speed ?

Not specifically, but the volume does anyway. I imagine there's a setting hidden away - thought I found it, but that appeared to be the volume turning down, when reversing (which I definitely like). Let me guess - hidden somewhere in there, right?!

IIRC - same screen as the volume reduction - there are a few settings - one is speed dependant volume.

Will have another stab at it. Thought I had it before, but no, sadly.

It's a bit of a cumbersome system (lots of options all over the place), but I am sure it will all come together eventually.

(As per the person in the other thread, post code entry is placed really badly!)

Go into the equalizer settings and play around with the settings. I've found a slight smiley face is generally a good place to start (with the central 1kHz at '0') and then just fettle to suit whatever music you're listening to. IIRC it's via Sound Setup >> Equalizer Eg, the sliders (L-R) 5, 3, 0, 4, 6

There is a setting to adjust the sound dependent on speed. It's in the setup via the Media screen. IIRC it's Setup >> Sound Setup >> Volume Setup >> Volume Adjustment. The same screen also allows you to change nav command volume, traffic announcement volume and similar.

The sound drives me mad in this car, I have to mess about with the equalizer settings constantly depending on the style of music!
