Hi I'm new to this so please forgive me coz I don't really no wot I'm doin at the min
I would like to no of any1 can help me with my seat Leon 2.0 tfsi fr running 360 bhp
Recently I had it serviced and the car is running absolutely fine however since it was serviced sometimes wen I leave the car on idle for 5 mins or so then I get back in and set off I get a puff of white smoke out of the exhaust it dosent do it all the time just now and again however it never did it b4 the service so I'm getting worried something isn't right any help would be verry much appreciated thanks

If your getting white smoke then your turbo is about to go pop... is it smoking all the time?

More importantly you say its 360? Unless the turbo has been swapped from the K03s to Cupra/S3/Ed30 K04 turbo?

Is your car modified? What mods does your TFSI sport currently have?

hi thanks for the reply yes the car has been ko4 converted it's basically had the Jkm package stage 3 revo with Sps switch And so on I can give u the list if u like but I don't really no wot I'm doin with cars I just drive them and service them that's it

Yes mate oil,oil filter, plugs, fuel filter, and blasted the air filter out with the air line wich is an itg induction kit

Also he put 5/40 oil in I was told today it should be5/30 long life 3 or castrol edge 5/30 fully synthetic I am changing the oil in the morning so any info on that will be appreciated I was also told to get the breather system checked aswel

Wong oil could let it smoke slightly if the oil that was put in is less viscous than the specified oil, so change the oil and see if that helps... if not then it sounds like the oil seals on the turbo going or valve stem seals which is unlikely.

Pretty sure 5/40 is okay aswell...

I read from another forum (mk5gti forum) about using different that can also help but pretty sure 5/40 was harmless to the engine. (you can change it for a peace of mind but i doult it will do damage).

Hmm white smoke not seen it on mine but on a mk5 gti I have done on cold starts

Hopefully that the seals were replaced when the turbo was being swapped over  and also not loose.

Here's a list of the parts the car has done to it
Ko4 turbo
Rs4 fuel pump and injectors
Diverter valve
Full millteck exhaust
Stage 3 revo remap with revo sps switch
Sachs clutch
Quife diff
Itg induction kit
Not wich I no verry much about any of it just the basics haha all I no is the car is a monster and it runs fine /for the minute/no smoke wen running just the odd time wen on idle and it doesn't pour out the exaust on idle it sort of builds up inside the exuast and then puffs it out wen reved once it's pushed out wot it's built up inside its fine dosent do it again then. I had it on the rolling rd yesterday and they reved the bollocks off of it and no smoke at all i told them about this problem with the smoke and we left the car to idle for ten mins after it cum off the ramps so I reved it after the ten mins and no smoke wot so ever however after driving the car home 4 miles and leaving it to idle for 10 more mins and wot do I get a big puff of white smoke ????????

it dosent smoke on the start up eather it's never done it b4 it started the day I did this service

done hold me to this, but from your description, if its after idling for 5 min's is it not just condensation that's built up in the exhaust

you had any other symtom's

No it a puff of pure white smoke with the smell off burnt oil

A turbo on its way out will usually puff white constantly. Take it back to JKM for diagnostic.

No other symptoms at all the car runs fine it dosent smoke wen boosting I'm wondering if it could be the stage 4 setting on the sps I never really run it on stage 4 always on stage 3 but in the last few weeks I've been trying out here and ther but I don't no much but I don't think it could be coz of that cos its an oil smell and it only happens every so often not constant

Haven't been on here for a while so I thought I'd post a quick reply when I checked with the mechanic he sed he had put 5w40 in on the service so I dumped the oil again changed it to 5w30 long life as recommended by Jkm and the problem disappears thank god

thats the kit i want on my FR :( how do you find the preformance of the car with the K04 and supporting mods on it ?

and if you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay ?

It's not unusual to run 5w40 on a tuned engine. I'm sure a few people on here run with it.

I find it brilliant the power is absolutely imence as for costs I think it costs around 4 to 5 k for parts and labour maybe cheaper now as I've had it done over a year ago now. And as for the oil situation soon as I took the 5w40 out and back in with the recommended 5w30 problem disappeard never had it b4 and the day I drove it away from the service garage the kroblem started as soon as I went back and changed the oil problem stopped so I am guessing my car dosent like that oil for sum reason
