Leon Mk2 Rear Bench Removal

I was a bit disappointed to find that I am unable to put the rear seat backs down completely flat as the rear bench does not appear to pivot forward out of their way. Is there a simple way of removing & replacing the rear bench? I don't want to force it out & find I can't get it back in!

Many thanks..........

yes, there are two clips on some rods(which i think might be used to pivot) under the seats in the middle of the left and right seat.

To release the rear you have to unhook it, so I think you first have to put the seat back a bit and lift or something, which will unhook. Ive done it quite a few times with ease.

Rear seat removal

There are two 'clips' on the front of the bench, which need to be pulled out one at a time. They are quite substantial clips which receive the metal tubing of the seat, if you poke your fingers in the gap between the front of the bench and the carpet you can locate them... the next step is to dig your fingers in either side and pull firmly upwards... It is not too difficult but as I say it does take a bit of force... Once both sides are separated at the front, the next step is just a case of unhooking the rear lug by pushing down and backwards on the rear of the seat.

Thanks for the helpful replies. I think I will leave it well alone now though! The rear bench obviously comes out but isn't meant to be a regular event.

DanGB - I am an expert at taking things apart and NOT being able to get them back together again!
