HI i'm looking for some help please. I've recently retro fitted a rain sensor and auto light switch but now it's time for the final part of the convenience pack, auto dimming rear view mirror.

I've purchased one of eBay which i've fitted with no issues. I now need to get power to it.

I can't post links yet but if you search eBay for "SEAT Leon 5F automatic dimming Rearview mirror / Cable set / Retrofit"

The cable comes from Germany and I asked them if there are English instructions. I got a basic reply saying no.

Before I take the plunge and spend 39 quid on a cable does anyone know how hard this would be to fit please? I've taken the pillar trims off before to fit a dash cam so thats no issue. I'm just worried i'll have to take the dash apart or something of similar complexity.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Hi, I have the same question.
Bought an FR 184 without the convenience pack ! Doh !! But have fitted auto lights and wipers.
Got the gentex mirror from a cupra but not the wiring loom.
Guess were both looking for the same thing -wiring and pin outs .
Does your mirror have the 8 pin plug ? :(

I stuck it in the car so can't check right now. It's either 6 or 8 and from what I could see there are 3 wires connected.

The one I got of eBay is the standard auto dim mirror. It looks exactly the same as the one in my previous 150 FR.

I'm interested in fitting these optional extras, but my car doesn't have the space for sensors at all, it's just a rear view mirror stuck to the glass.

Does anyone know if I can retro fit the mirror and sensor housing to the standard windscreen? Or do I need a new one that will allow the housing and sensors etc?

Not sure Pops848. Do you have an FR Leon?

I know FR's have a sensor for the climate control where the rain/light sensor is.. Maybe that's why they share the windscreen and wiring with the convenience pack versions.

I guess anything is possible but you might need a new windscreen and all the mirror housing.

Afraid not, just a big standard SE witch tech pack.

I'm sure it's possible but it'll be cost vs value to me that will dictate it, if I can get a mirror, sensor and wiring I can fit myself providing I dont need a new windscreen, that'll be the crunch

Light sensor and switch was easy. Well worth taking the plunge. I’ve still not got around to running the mirror cable so let me know if you do.

I don’t remember the part numbers but there’s another thread in this forum with every detail you’ll need. I had no experience of car coding or retro fitting till I did this. It’s surprising easy so long as you follow each step.
