Hello all,

I currently drive a Ford Fiesta Zetec S 1.0 125 ecoboost and I will be leasing a Seat Leon SC 1.4 125 TSI. I am really impressed with the ecoboost and was wondering what to expect from the Leon ie. Is it reasonably quick? Does it pull well? Does it have overboost? anyone has driven both and can compare that would be spot on.

I hope you can help.

Thanks,

Matt

What trim level you going for in the leon? Can't comment on the 125 version but I have the 150 version and it is plenty capable. I do yearn for a little more at times but that just me, if I had 200 I'd want 300 etc etc.

As for the leon generally, you tend to get a lot of equipment as standard over other marques but the amount is obviously dependant on what trim you have.

Thanks for the reply, I'm going for the FR Technology trim level. But I'm going for the 17'' alloy's as I am after a more comfortable ride as I opted for the larger alloy's on my Fiesta and the ride was firm.

I love my FR and the car is a nice place to be, even on the daily commute. I am averaging just over 50mpg in my 150 since buying it in april which I'm happy with. I went for 18s on mine and I've said it hundreds of times to others on here that I don't find the ride on 18s firm at all. Even the wife finds it comfortable.

I'm the exact same with my 1.4 150 Titanium Technology with the 18inch alloys. Passengers think it is very comfortable. As the drive you are always going to feel the road since you are holding the steering wheel and on the pedals but its not one bit uncomfortable for me. Its fantastic and the alloys look amazing which is a plus :p

Couldn't agree more. Even if they were uncomfortable I'd still have them as they just fill the arches a lot better than the 17s. I've always been more of style over practicality when it comes to things like this though.

I got the 1.4 125 and previous had the 1.4 140(same torque figure as the 150 just no act) to be entirely honest with you the difference between them is minimal so far. More than capable car to play with. ( played with a few fiesta st’s in my old 140 and it gave them a run for their money and left a montune one behind on a private road”) mpg wise I’m averaging 38mpg in 600 miles. Pulls real well when you get it going and you do find you will go though the first 2 gears quickly (28mph in 1st 59 in 2nd and 87 in 3rd at 5500-6000 rpm)
Had both of them on 18 inch alloys the pre facelift felt harder than the facelift, it handles a dream I find and due to this you can make up power loss (as proven to a mate in his focus st today left him red faced very funny to be honest)

Even though the torque is the same on the eco boost and the 1.4 125 you will find the gearing if different and it will on paper pull to 60 half a second quicker. Also you will need to remember you are going to a bigger car which is in a different vechicle class. It will also handle differently

Due to a bigger engine and no act your mpg will go down depending on how you drive it (when sensible I can manage 44mpg on a engine 600 miles old)

I've also got a SC 1.4 125 coming through a lease deal (same one as OP probably). I've got the 18" alloys with mine to hopefully help with the wait time. Finding out my build date this week, hoping for February or earlier :).
