I have a vantrue s1 pro max duel dash cam hardwired into the fuse box and it's voltage cut off is set to 12v, however just recently my battery is going flat it appears the cut out isn't working or I have some other constant drain on my battery. I wondered if a solar panel drip charger would solve this issue. I live on the Costa blanca south so sunshine is not an issue.
But am not sure if a solar charger connected to the car battery would work with the modern VAG engine configuration.
Any ideas please?

I'm sure that a solar charger would work, you can buy ones that plug directly into the OBD2 port that is near the driver's knee area in the car, having that type avoids the need to open the bonnet and connect to the battery.
Maybe place something between the bottom of the solar charger and the dash top or rear parcel shelf to avoid surface damage though.

But wouldn't connecting to the OBD2 port just not work when the car engine is turned off? I'm not good with modern car electrics lol
