leon stdi MK1 v- starts for few seconds then cuts out

I checked the forum but didn't find my specific problem.

I have a stdi mk1 diesel leon and when I start the car it will fire but then cut out after a few seconds.

im going to be looking into it tomorrow myself but wanted to know if anyone had had this issue before or had any pointers?

Does it run at full revs smoothly and cut out or hunt at lower revs for a few seconds and then stall?

hello, the car will start, sit at normal idle revs and then stop. it will run for a about 3-5 seconds. I checked what wiring I could from the battery. found some damaged earth cables but that didn't fix it. if anybody has any suggestions as to where to check or look into?

You will need to get Vag-Com/VCDS on it and find out what error codes you have.

Hi there.

Can't you scan it for error codes with VCDS or Torque for Android with a bluetooth scanner?
