Well yesterday, tiggs turned 120 000 miles. It made me think of how sturdy these cars actually are. Sure there are the problems or characteristics of the car lol but really I haven't had any major issues-or is this where they begin?
I have owned the car for 2 years and my pedal box has been fine, the gearbox has been fine, the driveshafts have been fine. I've had to get 4 new tyres, a battery, brakes and 2 wheel bearings which in my eyes is quite alright. My car has probably the worst body condition on this whole site, rusty arches, boot -the usual places they go but it's a small sacrifice for how good the cars been to me. So join with me and raise a glass (and a few eyebrows if you think i've completely lost it!) to celebrate our trusty seats and show our appreciation!

I've had a lot of jap crap, but after my mk2 golf I was hooked i'll drive tiggs til he breaks then get another

nice one tiggs!! ive had mine 10 yrs now and its done over 150k. i got it with 10k on the clock. its on its 3rd engine(being fitted now) but very little rust and the archs dont have any rust whatsoever!! i just carnt bear to part with it as when it works its fine. call me sad but its part of the family lol.

wow! 10 years! It's the rust on mine that's a let down i'll need to get some pics up. It's quite bad-like I said it's probably the worst on the whole site. But my boyfriend had one just like mine but the 8v, it was immaculate body condition, not a spot of rust but the problems he had were unreal. So I need to have a compromise. That's not sad that's seat!

Yay congratulations. I'll be coming up the 120k mark if she don't die on me sooner.

The arches are feeling like the rust is getting in. Already see visible signs on the o/r arch and the tailgate is rusty as fook arund the rear wiper. All the more reason to de-wiper and smooth out the rear end.

Yayy!!, Happy 120,000th !, mines up to 110,000 and still goin strong, new pedal box last year, 4 new tyres, new rear discs and bearins and thats about it in the 3 year ive had it, A bloke asked me the other day if I had changed the reg, I said no its just a T plate, he couldnt believe the condition it was in, Hats off to the beezer bretheren!!

Swwweeettt!! mines done 135.000 ive owned it 4 years n only bought an engine mount, rear brake pads, track rod end n 2 new tyres, not bad seen as tho i do 60 miles a day, until now, shes started playin up argh.. (its best car ive ever owned n i aint gettin rid)

Yes. It needs a wash I've not washed it in ages-there's no point in this rain that's my excuse and i'm sticking to it

I only seen rain once in the last 3 weeks ! Mine is overdue a wash too and some new wipers, cos when they wipe, they smear and then it's dirty water wiped all over my car !
