Location please?

I need to locate the Lambda sensor concerned.
Keeping everything crossed that its a wire off so I can fix it without paying out

Can anyone provide me with a location, a picture would be really great.

My car 1.8 SE 20V 2005.

its under the handbrake under the car i dunno if you have to but the 20vt do.!! if its the one on the cat then good luck with trying to get it off you need to get a funny tool.!!!!

Pretty sure bank b1 is the pre cat sensor, it's at the back of the engine on the downpipe

corect unless you have aftermarket DP liie me than its easy

Guess you are right, I'd just like to check to make sure its not a wire off, that I could fix if I can find the thing.
Got two locations to look at now

Any idea how much this will cost?

Just had a bit of a look, from above, looking down the back of the engine, it was impossible to see much at all.
There does seem to be a cable that is covered with some kind of foil shield going into the area of the down pipe about halfway down, this is the only candidate I found.
Quite how you would get to this is past me.
Even looking up from below would be hard going, if, 'if' I have found it.

Looks like its going to cost me then :-(

Sounds like the part

It's pretty easy to get at from underneath - just a decent trolley jack to get it about 12" off the ground.

Done quite a few before one handed with a spanner & WD40

Hi OK, I do have a jack and stands.
I want to check to see if the wires are ok as I have an open circuit fault on it.

What's the best place to apply the jack/ stands on these cars?

Subframe for lifting & supporting is my preference - the actual body is 'soft' and bends too easily.

Also check the junction box the lambas go into, read before the connections in that fail.
I'm sure it's screwed to the floor pan.

Ah OK well she is booked in to her second home JKM Wednesday, they say that the fault is not always the sensor, could be an air leak from a hose, they can check and sort it for me in about hour or so if its in stock hose, if its the sensor same thing but add £100 :-(

Chaps, just looking for a bit of peace of mind.
Looking again at the fault readout. P1116 Oxygen Lambda sensor heating B1 S1 open circuit,
To me it looks like the heater on the sensor has failed?
So can I assume that once the sensor gets up to temp via exhaust gasses, it will still work and keep my cat safe?
The car does run fine.

Just that JKM said it could cause damage, this being my holiday week I had loads of trips planned :-(
