Hi Guys,

Just after a bit of help.

When I have locked the mk3 once, the alarm light flashes.

I have come to lock it tonight and it has stayed a solid red.

Can anybody shed any light on this?

Cheers

Hi Adam

Just checked the manual, it says "if the red light stays on when the car is locked for 30 seconds, there is a fault and you should consult a dealer".

I would start the car, turn it off make sure all the doors are shut, and set the alarm again, that may hopefully re set it.

Seems strange. 7 years with my Ibiza and 9 months so far with the leon I never had a solid red light.

Hopefully what ever it was has corrected it's self and won't reappear!

Hi chrisRibiza,

Thanks for the response.

Ive only just got the car and got a bit worried when I saw that tonight.

This happened again with the solid red light last night

I started the car and switched it off and it reset it.

Should I consult the dealer?

Cheers

I'd certainly ask the question as it shouldn't be solid red and it may have logged a fault. Could be a dodgy sensor somewhere.

My alarm light seldom works due to a loose connection. I can push it down and it works but opening and closing the doors knocks it loose again. I forgot to take a look when I soundproofed the doors :-(

Hi Guys,

This has happened once again.

Just been on holiday to Cornwall and it hasn't done it once, come home tonight and its started doing it again.

The light stays solid then starts flashing. Im a little confused.

How much would the dealer charge for this type of fault?

Cheers

Had this solid instead of flashing light a couple of times, it means the one shot windows and/or the remote windows/mirrors opening/closing is not working. Follow the instructions in the manual for resetting, which means fully opening and closing the windows with a further pull/push at full open/close I think, and hey presto the light then flashes again and the remote can work the windows and mirrors too. Supposed to only need this if the battery has been disconnected, but you know what modern electronics are like these days.

My FR lights up the alarm light red when in sport mode when driving. Anyone else have this issue?
