looked at insuyrance for me on a 1.8 16v and it was 1700, 400 quid less than im paying on my 1.1 at the moment, because its my first year of driving.
insurance is insane.

so what are the popular mods that people go for on mk2s then?

I've had 1.4 8v SPI & 1.4 8v MPI mk2s

They make 60bhp (ish)

compare that to a 1.4 8v corsa that makes 80bhp (ish)
or even a 1.4 16v corsa that makes 90bhp & is easily tunable to 120bhp (ish)

Im not saying buy a vauxhall, far from it. Im simply saying the ibiza is slow compared to other cars in the same range.

cause im awesome nah i have no clue, i went through go compare then admiral came out cheapest then i changed it to 10month bonus accelerator and i came to 379 fuly comp

the leon pulled up next to me and asked me what i had in my car told him i got a 2litre non turbo and he said "**** i just got this remaped to 260!" im a better driver tho so its not really a problem. i can outrun panamera turbos on the twisty bits.

I bet those Corsa's weigh a helluva lot more than the Ibiza though... Looked at Wikipedia and it says the Corsa A is already 710 kgs, and that's a piece of cheese compared to Ibiza... The B Corsa seems to have empty weight of 975...

My Ibiza weighs 750 kg and I have a 1.4 8v aswell... Somehow I think those extra 20 hp don't or hardly compensate for the extra 225 kg... Same for the Golf and other hatches...

1050kgs as i have a race spec(read poverty spec) cupra sport gti, no sunroof or Air con OR traction control!
also have no back seats/seatbelts/parcel shelf/rear carpet/and sound deadening in the rear!

makes it tail happy in this cold/icy conditions and 150bhp

my friend had the 1.4 16v corsa sport and i used to have him all the way to the end of 3rd gear... then his 9th valve kicked in...

It was faster than my 130bhp 8v ibiza
