hi as above, got talking to someone the other day who might be selling A leon fr tdi. It had a personaliased number plate but she said it was an 04. would that have to be the 150 bhp engine.? it had the 6 speed box and leather seats in too. as I'm new to SEAT,s I don't know much about them so any information, reviews would be great.
Iv had a couple of mk4 gt tdi 130 golf's which were bulletproof. would I just be buying a golf in one respect?

That's correct mate all fr and cupra tdi mk1's are 150 bhp. They are pretty much the same car as the mk4 golf, as far as I know the pd 130 and pd150 are the same engine just with a different turbo, intercooler and some other bits.

That's good feed back then, cheers. I always remember people saying the golf 130 engine was better than the 150. I'm no mechanic so I can't say what the difference is.
any more feed back would be good.

Serviced properly and looked after, yes! As said it's the same as the Golf Mk4, and as long as the correct oil is used and changed regularly it's pretty dependable.

I got mine at 58k just over 3 years ago, now on 110k and it's been just wear and tear and regular maintenance needed.

Same here, have had mine for over 2 years now and wouldn't think of selling it.
Oil and filter change every year, make sure the cambelt and water pump is done every 4 years and everything should be fine. Mine had 28K on it when I bought it, now done 37K and 10 years old.
The bodywork is fantastic, not a sign of rust anywhere. Keep it clean with regular washing and polishing and should last for years.
Only weak point is the wheels that will corrode. Had mine blasted and powder coated last year and that should keep the corrosion away.
Oh and I would second a stage 1 remap and EGR map. Mine was done last week and immediately the economy has improved along with extra horses and torques.

I've got an FR PD150 and is still going strong after 88k! and mine is stock. Not got the funds together yet for Remap and exhaust ;)

Mine is stock apart from the stage 1 remap and EGR, no need for an exhaust.
Paid £180 for both jobs which will pay for itself eventually in fuel savings.
Sorry going off topic.

Thanks everyone for replying. just what I wanted to hear. its only done 78k too. I live in Carlisle and traveled to Cornwall with the golf on half a tank, about 450 mile.

Iv got to ask but why have you had 6 cars that have been the same.

Without turning this into a selling post,

Since I custom tune vag's anyway in my area, I started to sell my map for the pd150 leons and golfs on ebay and outside of ebay with bigger success than I expected purely to reach a wider market, altho yes its a file or whole plug in ecu I sell to people, I do offer free custom maps changes via logs returned to me for those that have the flashing tools or those that come to me or close by.

Developed on my own car over a year and many thousand of miles, I can honestly say it has 100% mpg gains, so much that it very rare for one of my tuned pd150's to average less than 50mpg, 190bhp all day long and zero smoke.

From the feedback I've been given back people opinions are that it totally transforms the car into how it should of come from factory.

You can obtain big gains by de-catting these and I have logs and graphs to prove the difference between stock cat and decat with zero tune changes, the difference totally shocked me as soon as my foot went flat down.

PD150 has stronger head bolts too.

What sort of torque figure do you get with your map,I have a revo stage 1 on my fr 150 and it rolling roaded at 196bhp and 314ft/lb.
Its great to drive and theres very little smoke but I rarely get above 45 mpg.

Never got it on the dyno if I am honest, as most things I tune are all road tuned and only dyno'd if its not road legal, I like road tuning for the better cooling and real life environments.

The tune I sell is developed it to be clutch friendly and more of a progressive tune it honestly drives/rev's like a petrol.

But I've built the map file in such way, that I can just simply raise the torque limiter at lower rpms if the customer wishes to kill his clutch faster. I don't sell clutches so I don't try to push them that hard unless requested or the car has uprated parts already.

I run more fuel in degress than the Revo pd150 map @4000rpm.
Corrected the mapping so in the day time you cannot notice any smoke and at night time you see a light haze in the lights behind.
Also controlled the boost so it doesn't spike over 1.7bar at the lower rpms.

I've got people away from blacksmoke and revo maps and they all rate my tune better for the way it drives and the fact I adjust the tune to suit their turbo's character

Wondering GTJedi..... Do you have the tools to flash your ecu yourself?
