Lumpy idle - 2.0 TDI

I've noticed this a few times since I bought the car last month but some days are more noticeable than others - today being one of those days - so I thought I'd ask...

When idling with a warmed up engine, my TDI 140 seems everso slightly lumpy. Most noticeable when sat at traffic lights with my foot on the clutch, you can feel an occasional judder from the engine - slightly audible too, although not enough to make the rev counter move. Engine seems perfectly fine otherwise - no problems while driving.

Something to be concerned about? My old mk1 1.9TDI had a perfectly smooth idle. It's booked into the stealers next week for them to look at the wheel bearings - reckon I should mention it to them?

I get the same on my 2.0 Altea, you can feel it through the peddles and also sometimes through the whole car (as in shakes).

Does anyone also find with the 2.0 that it can be very rough / harsh on turn off some times?

Interestingly, the 1.9 TDI in my Ibiza used to be rough on idle - sometimes shaking the car as described above - I was assured it was nothing to worry about - perhaps the 2.0 is much the same?

mine's the same, got worried when reading another couple of threads about possible degenerating dual mass flywheels (assuming that the TDi has this)

now that there are several others with the same problem guess it's something to just live with

Just had my dual mass flywheel replaced about 2000 miles ago.

It's not a big issue to live with - I was just worried there was something wrong. At least I know now that if there is something wrong, we're *all* screwed! :cartman:
