Maf failure??

Hi people,

Got my car booked in to dealers for MAF fault tomorrow (diagnosed by DPJ with vagcom- mass air flow sensor signal too low, intermittant) What I want to know is if anyone has had the following symptom with MAF failure before.
Had just filled car up at petrol station and when i started it up the revs were high for idle (no auto choke as engine already warmed up) Pressed throttle and revs went back to normal idle. Pulled away and car jerked and nearly stalled then pulled away. Got to next junction and when stopped revs were high again for idle, pressed throttle again and back to normal. Checked pedal and all ok.

After that rambling explanation can anyone please throw any light on it

Hi Craig, I haven't had that before. Has it done it since? Sounds a bit like a sticky pedal.

Fingers crossed the ECU has thrown up the MAF fault again by the time it gets to the dealers.

Yeah hope so Dave.
The parts guy was getting a replacement in for tomorrow so fingers crossed. Annoying thing is put the airbox back on, on monday and car has felt really perky until this morning when that happened on way home from work.
