MAF on a BSE engine

Hi all,

I have a 2007 Leon 1.6 petrol which has a VW BSE (8v) engine. I was wondering if this engine has a MAF sensor as I don't see any on the pipe that runs from the airbox to the engine inlet manifold. There are also no wires going into the airbox so the MAF sensor isn't there either.

I'd say it does since I found replacements here when I Googled:

I have the same engine but I have never heard of MAF before, to be honest with you. What does it do exactly?

None of those sensors are for a BSE engine.

The fact that I can't find one online would lead me to the conclusion that the BSE engine doesn't have a MAF sensor.

I concur. There is no MAF sensor listed on ETKA for the BSE engine.
