i run a standard cupra R and was jus wondering if there is anything i can do as a non-mechanic to keep my car running sweet?

resetting the ecu every now and again can do wonders

how do u go about reseting the ecu?

my engine management light was on, so i changed the maf, the fault was still there so i disconnected the battery for half hour and it was gone!

is there another way?

if you haven't got vagcom then thats how you do it.

when you reconnect the battery if you turn on the ignition (but don't start the engine) and leave it for about a minute it realligns the throttly body...you can hear it doing it.

because im sure my mate can reset his ecu on his impreza? obvioulsy a completely different car.

didnt know it realligned the throttle body, ill do it again then! just to see if that makes any more difference?
