... don't put petrol in your new FR TDI. If you do, filling the tank costs £210.

Ouch. Did you do that today? Any damage done or did you get it sorted out before it was driven again?

Hope it's ok!

That's even more than shell V-Power.........

Hope it didn't do too much damage to the car as well as your wallet.

This happened last night. Fortunately I realised what I'd done and didn't start the car. A very nice AA man turned up, towed me to Gloucester where they spend about 90 minutes syphoning, gave me two gallons to get me going, and then took my money.

The worst part was explaining to the forecourt attendant why I didn't want to move the car - the shop was full. That said, there was some rather tidy totty using the station, so all was not lost.

An expensive lesson, but no harm done to either life or car.

Uh oh, gutted, i have been lucky enough not to get confuddled. but have nearly done it once or twice then realised.

Count yourself lucky, heard with BMW's they have to replace parts and costs runs into thousands. Still cannot belive that so many people can put the wrong fuel into their cars

@jedi_knight - it does take a special skill, trust me! It's difficult to put diesel in to a petrol tank because the hole is the wrong size, though.

That is my biggest fear,as i am owning a FR TDI in a country where diesel cars represents only 2%!!!!(my fr is the only tdi at the moment in greece),so imagine that at fuel stations they dont even think about the chance you go there with a diesel car. So,all the time i first go out of the car, then i say diesel at least three times and then unlock!!!hehehe,i am trying to fill up from particular station and that way the get to know the car
