metallicy sound on partial throttle?

Hi,

i've noticed a slight noise (almost like Pinking) when my foot is just touching the throttle.

I'm hardly touching it- from No Throttle to just opening the Thottle (I'll get noise) to pressing the pedal.

Momenteraly I get a noise, almost like a bolt is sat loose on top of the engine.

Any ideas?!

Also, can anyone tell me what there power delivery is like on a std Cupra?

Mine tends to come in early at around 2.8-3k revs then spikes at 6.5k revs.
While it's doing this, the noise from the turbo is pretty intrusive.

It makes a really loud whistlig noise.

Oh, and if I bury the throttle at high revs (over 4k revs) the turbo tends to overboost then backs off.
It's deffinately doing something like that as the pitch from the Turbo is changing.


Is this normal?

My power kicks in from about 3 but then i get a second boost at 4.5-5k and holds the power till right up till 7k oh and i get the same metallicy sound as you, and also the turbo whistle is pretty loud, so i'd say it is normal

My car has the same metallic noise on very light throttle, but I think it is not normal, because my friend have the same car without that noise.
