It's that time of year again if you like to keep your built in Mib2 Standard maps up-to-date. The release is available on VW servers applicable with the workaround:

So I had some free time during the weekend and after upgrading to 515 mib firmware, I decided to give it a go and update the maps too. After some studying I read about the "overall" file workaround and so I downloaded the latest maps. Unfortunately I formatted (and not deleted) the V7 card that...

Normal form applies, don't delete the SD card without taking a copy of it, read the resource section on the workaround else it won't work ?. Watch out for Mac's etc.

You must take a copy of the SD card then follow the workaround instructions of moving that overall.nds file. Use CleanMyDrive on the SD card if using a Mac. You just delete whats on the SD after taking a copy. Dont format it, more risky. Unzip to the HD, copy over to SD card. Then copy the old overall.nds file back into position. Bobs your Uncle.

This month there will be the November release. No sign of it yet.

The old release should work straight away. Failing that the new release with the old release overall.nds from year dot. Failing that try the new release with the overall.nds that came with it. If that one works it means your unit had the life time navigation FeCs on it. The production issue...
