Minimum front brake disc thickness? 1.4TDi

Hi all

Being a skinflint, I don't want to change the brake discs until they are at the minimum limit. I've measured the thickness as 20mm (after 60k+ miles), the oemparts website suggests that minimum thickness is 19mm

Any advance on 19mm?

The minimum thickness is normally stamped on the edge of the disc.

It's usually 2mm off the original thickness

Thanks for the replies.

New discs now fitted, 22mm thick new, marked as replace at 19mm. 7mm allen key required, also small torx driver for the little grub screw that positions the new disc. Piston has to go right back into caliper to accommodate new discs and pads. Poor brakes for the first few miles (as you would expect), but improving.

Car has now done 76k miles, pads and discs were probably original, so these will probably get me up to 150k miles when I can throw them away
