In the Car Setup menu screen there is an option to turn on/off Synchronous Adjustment for the Mirrors and Wipers.

In the handbook there is (like a lot of other options) no mention of this, my question is what is this supposed to do ?

I have ticked / unticked this option, but I'm damned if I can see any differences.

Only got synchronous adjustment for mirrors on ours. When on it means both mirrors adjust at the same time.

On mine the Car/Setup/Mirrors and Wipers menu shows:

Mirrors
Synchronous adjustment: ON/OFF
Dip while parking: ON/OFF
Fold when parked: ON/OFF

Wipers
Automatic wiping in the rain: ON/OFF

I haven't read any correlation to the term synchronous applying to the wipers unless it means whether the rear wipe operates when selecting reverse gear.

The manual reads
The rear wiper is automatically switched on when the windscreen wiper is on and the car is in reverse gear.

Maybe the setting you're seeing deactivates the above feature?

I think you must be right there JimiC

Your model is obviously higher specced than mine

My mirror don't dip whilst reversing ( have tried setting up as per posts on this subject )
My mirrors don't fold
My wipers don't have the auto function ( no sensor in rear view mirror )

Thanks for your reply, I will see if selecting/unselecting this option affects the rear wiper in reverse.

As Kasand said, When you have synchronous mirrors on, on it means both mirrors adjust at the same time, if switched off the passenger or driver's mirrors can then be adjusted independently

Much the same as the synchronous adjustment of the windscreen wipers, when on, both the front windscreen wipers move at the same speed both together, if switched off the wiping speed off the passenger or drivers windscreen wipers can be adjusted independently of each other, I guess its in case there is more rain on one side of the windscreen than the other
Anyway hope that helps

It is only the left mirror that dips when reversing on mine, which is pretty much a standard package, but you need to manually move the little dial sort of thing that you have on the driver's door card to L

My mirrors don't fold

You need to press the lock button on the key for up to ten seconds for the mirrors to fold. You should also be able to do it from the mirrors dial if you move it to around.

I will see if selecting/unselecting this option affects the rear wiper in reverse.

The rear wiper starts automatically when you reverse and the front wipers are on.

Btw, the manual is full of crap, there are so many things that I discovered myself or with the help of this forum. I think there is a thread about what you discovered on your Leon today :)

Thanks for this info, i'd always wondered why i got more life out of the passenger wiper blade than the driver's side
