Mirrors not folding in?

Hi all

Does anyone out there have the folding mirrors - I have them on mine but can't get them to work. Tried disconnecting & reconnecting the battery as I was told that resets them but they still don't work

Does tanyone know what fuse they run off, if so which one as its not named in the manual.

try a search, I remember a similar post and as you say it was a fuse.

You could always try checking them all!

The electric mirrors on my old LCR got stuck in the folded position, it turned out that one of the wires had severed itself on a part of the internal door structure due to the continual movement of the mirrors. Whatever you do don't try and manually fold them in as you will break the mechanism!

So true, I was 2 days ago at the car wash and just as I was coming out of the tunnel this guy comes running to my car and unfolds the mirror, it worked a few times after that but now it always gets stuck while unfolding as if a gear had slipped, has anyone ever opened one of these mirrors? I'd like to know if it's possible to repair without having to go to the dealer since I know they'll want to replace the whole mirror and that's pretty expensive.

Interestingly the owners manual describes how to fold them in manually.

Not mine, my manual clearly states NEVER ATTEMTPT TO UNFOLD MIRRORS BY HAND, anyway right mirror is OK, the left one is now all loose and sounds as if a gear was broken or something, I'll still try the solution you gave in the other thread, let you know if it worked.
