Just wondering if any1 has fitted 1 of the golf anniversary turbos 2 their Ibiza. I have an FR TDI and I want to fit a bigger intercooler, uprate my clutch and get a bigger turbo before a remap. I can get 1 of these cheap but just wondering how good they will remap with the bigger intercooler.

I'm not clued up either, but you'd need to check whether it would fit on the Ibiza's manifold/exhaust OK. The Ibiza engine bay will be smaller/tighter than a Golf so I wouldn't be surprised if there are some differences.

Wouldnt a Ibiza cupra turbo be a better bet? Lease you know it fits.

It may even be the same turbo, most PD150s seem to push out 160 ish from the factory, perhaps they called it the PD150 as its a derv equivilent of the 20vt in base format.

If you really want a bigger turbo then people like Allards will do a hybrid of sorts and map it all for you. Some people swear by them, but others have had them go pop for various reasons.

There are literally a couple of VT2s which have popped, and dozens which are running perfectly! I can testify to that... My block's done 158,000 miles and it runs sweet.

The Golf PD150 turbo is common within the whole VAG group - Seat, Skoda, Audi, VW - all use the same. 190BHP is the max that you can reliably push out of it.

Are you sure on that?

I'm only aware of VNT1749VB's running on PD TDI150's...and Beezer's PD TDI160...
The PD TDI130's either run a VNT1749VA or a KKK unit (on some beezers).

As far as reliable figures...IMO a healthy stock VB unit can pushed up to ~200bhp (with all the hardware remaining stock) reliably enough for every day driving. But if you intend to do TD's and lots of spirited driving, no more than ~190bhp would be desirable...
Of course these figures are always very subjective, since they're related to a lot of variables on the remap (boost level, inj qty and advance, etc).
