Mk1 starting problems

Hi guys

This mnorning i get to my car for a short journey, turn the ignition and the EPC light and the engine management come on and nothing happens. the car doesnt even turn over. all the other lights come on and then go off as normal but the EPC light and the engine management light remain. after a few minutes of trying the car started perfectly and ran as normal

any ideas what could be doing this?

did the lights go out ??

yeah the lights went out fine after it started. infact it has been fine since. i have no idea what could have caused it!

Any help much appreciated!
