Mk3.5 ambient lighting

Apologies if this has been asked before, but couldn't find a definitive answer, my ambient lighting on the door cards changes colour perfectly, but when I change the colour the foot well lighting stays the same white/yellow. Are they supposed to change the same colour as the door cards?

I can change the door cards (8 colours) but the footwells stay white...I don't think footwells are designed to change. There are threads on here with owners who have changed to coloured LED's or stuck coloured plastic over.

I think that's what I'll do then, next conundrum, what colour do I want, decisions decisions.
