Hi guys i found myself on this site often through using google to research (currentlly researching about the LCR setup), i seen some cool cars and usefull information on here so decided i would sign up ...... so hi!!

I bought this car with the intention of long term ownership (i don't plan to ever sell it). With mods i believe i can make it my perfect daily driver for many years to come.

The idea is more go than show, i want it to be subtle on the outside so wont be fitting crazy bodykits or having 10 exhaust pipes sticking out of the rear. Flamer kits, underbody lighting and 500 kg of sterio equipment is a big no no. For me its all about starting with what VW intended ..... then making it a lot better.

So my car is a 2003 3 door PD150 in black magic pearl, i was very specific with what model and colour i wanted ..... other models, engines, 5 doors and other paint colours were not an option.

Current mods:

Allard EGR delete kit
Allard PD150 intercooler hard pipe replacement kit
Vac system simplification (only have the n75 valve connected now)
Koni STR-T suspension kit
18 inch new style RS4's in gloss black with machine polished face
Pirelli P Zero Asimmetrico N1 Porsche tyres (replaced my previous Toyo proxes 4's)
Mk5 rear wiper
Annivarsary seatbelts
Stubby OEM style roof ariel
Genuine VW US spec rear lights
Helix uprated organic clutch kit
Helix lightweight Single Mass Flywheel
Pipercross pannel filter replaced with standard OEM filter (OEM filter is overkill anyway)
Custom remap to an indicated 204 bhp 320 lb-ft

I have loads of parts gathering in a pile ready for some 'proper' mods over the next few months, they include:

R32 front calipers + genuine R32 2 peice 334mm alloy centred discs
TT quattro rear calipers (+ 6mm spacers)+ Tarox F2000 256mm vented rear discs
Uprated pads and brake hoses
VW votex rear valance
Anni/R32 'stubby' mirrors
18 inch Audi BBS RS2 split rims (awaiting custom refurb)
Neuspeed 28mm rear ARB (i will probablly sell this as i am going to fit Audi TT eibach f&r ARB's)
LCR/Anniversary pedals + matching dead pedals
Anniversary 'gti' door sill protectors (also match the pedals)
Anniversary gearstick
Ford Focus ST3 black heated recaro leather seats (identical to Audi S4 seats)
Newsouth boost gauge fitted into steering colum pod (places gauge infront of rev counter)
Full THS uprated engine mount kit including dog bone
Audi TT hubs and wishbones

As it stands now ......

Nice welcome cheers guys lol.

..... im gonna go slay me some Seats now.

haha, FYI its the standard rear badge it left the VW factory with .... thats how they are.

didnt no that lol. Like the touch under it tho.

Looks like uve done a fair few good upgrades too.

Cupra Al, they are good cars, perfect for daily driving duties. With 150 bhp and 240 lb-ft torque as standard they are pretty much a cheap to run effortless driver still capeable of rather fast progress. A remap alone on a standard PD150 gives them more straight line speed than the 204 bhp v6 4mo. Add a turbo from the 3.0 Audi TDi and some bigger injectors and you have straight line speed to destroy R32's.

Mine is a great example, mechanically perfect, good bodywork, just a few battle scars which have built up over its 129k miles (stone chipped windscreen and front bumper from lots of motorway miles). I can see this car still being with me at 200k miles lol, it will get better and faster as time goes by.

Dont be put off by the higher milers out there, in my opinion there is no need or good reason to be 'wasting' extra money buying a low mileage mk4 TDi. The camshaft 'issue' is a pot luck thing, mine was inspected at 125k miles and is in great condition with no wear. Other owners have had camshaft failure on engines with less than 30k miles. Its all about condition and how its been looked after, not mileage. I remapped mine on 112k miles, now 17k miles later my 129k original turbo is still working fine and boosting hard.

Tom, yeah about the badge VW decided the PD150 was worthy of GTi spec and a badge, they came to the same spec as the petrol GTi. If you put the 150 bhp GTi diesel and 150 bhp GTi petrol side by side and the only visual difference is the diesel has the same front lower valance as the v6 4mo, the petrol GTi has a standard valance same as the 1.4. The diesel also has hidden discreet exhaust where as the petrol has the tailpipe visible. As standard the diesel has 150 bhp and 240 lb-ft (same torque as the R32), the petrol has 150 bhp and a weedy 155 lb-ft torque *sniggers*.

Here is what i will be using to slow me down when i add a bigger turbo. Genuine 334mm R32 front discs and Tarox F2000 256mm vented rear discs. R32 front calipers and TT quattro rears.

Update: Full decatted turbo back exhaust system is on order, hopefully should be fitted around the end of the month.

I am booked in the garage tomorrow to have my uprated THS engine mounts + dogbone fitted.

A couple of month back i replaced all my standard intercooler pipes because the standard clip connection system on the PD130/150 is shite and allways leaking boost.

I also took the opportunity to clean out my inlet manifold, delete the EGR and simplify the vac system.
