Bad times mate. Maybe spend the money on a decent set of discs and pads and maybe get the brake fluid changed!

Yeah, but I promised myself that this car will have the best and thought it justified, have a lot of plans for my car, waiting for work to get busy and if /when it does I'll pestering techie for more wokr to be done. Hehe.
Back to topic though, you can still improve the brakes you've got like people have said, better brakes & pads...

I am planning on doing a readers ride thread, but want to do a couple more mods first to build a good step by step of the car.

APs are not at fault they have road pads on them and the XDS adds to the overheating. Stick some frodo or mintex 1144s on there if your going on track. They are amazing road brakes as standard. I'm guessing you've never actually used them to make the "more for show" comment .
If they had racing pads more people would complian as they would need heat in them to be at theirmost effective.

I work at a seat deAlership and have been out in cupras with race brakes and without. Yea there is a diff but i would scream and shout about it. They just fill a big gap in the wheel. When i drive a saab aero with upgraded brakes the difference is instant. Just my opinion tho sure others think diff.
Im sure if u did upgrade disc and pads it would be better, but thats the same with any brakes.

Well i must admit i dont hang about and do cook them. They do there job better then standard anyways hands down. I dont obviously use them everday as i dont have mine yet and wen i do maybe ill say i was wrong but after driving a few now the only reason i bought the upgrade was for big red shiny calipers lol. But i may have to just upgrade discs and pads at some point as i like to run mine hot like i stole it.
In day to day stop and start I suppose all brakes work the same, when you get used to them and then try and scrub off speed in a car with normal brakes you may get a shock it's the motoway speeds and braking hard before a corner where these babies shine.
The disks should be fine but if you want to change to frodo DS's or mintex 1144's for that bit extra it may be worth it. If you have trouble findig pads to fit they are the same 4-pots as found on the Clio v6

I've been watching these on fleabay for a while - £190 for all that is needed for an upgrade to 312mm, for those with 288's or so I believe...

Need to have the ATE calipers that come on the Mk4 Golf with 288mmm brakes though....
