I thought I'd give these guys a try, as I have heard lots of negative comments about my nearest dealer (MK Seat or Stoneacre as was). I'm afraid I really can't recommend them for service work, and that's putting it lightly.
Firstly, the price quoted in advance (£195 inc VAT + £10 car hire insurance) suddenly shot up to £266 with no satisfactory explanation - something feeble about different horsepower ratings of the 1.9 TDI meant the price was variable, even though I told them in advance mine was 130.
Secondly, although the car was supposedly washed, it looks like they gave Stevie Wonder a hosepipe and pointed him in my cars general directon - it was a real waterstained, grubby mess.
Thirdly and worst of all, when I got home I noticed they had overfilled the oil by at least 1 litre. I can kick myself for not checking it on their forecourt, but it was a scorcher of a day and I just wanted to get home and cool off. This morning I took it to a local Skoda dealer who, after some negotiation with Motorvogue, dropped all the oil and refilled it correctly.
I am now just wondering what else might come to light in the next few days. I'm absolutely fuming, as I specifically put it in early as I'm driving through Europe in two weeks and expect to put almost 3,000 miles on it within a fortnight.
Now this might not seem like much to you lot, it certainly was of little concern to them, but when you pay out serious money for the biggest, top of the range, best specced vehicle they make, you really don't expect this sort of service.
So, another service centre which won't get my business in future, and please consider yourselves warned.
