Got a 5 door Leon 290 BE and need to pick a new mountain bike up tomorrow, with the back seats folded down and the front wheel on the bike removed does anyone think I'll have an issue fitting it in?

Nope, I've picked up a few bikes in mine even with the front wheel on. Just be careful not to scratch the rear bumper when lifting in and out.

As above it will fit no problem, do however be aware when loading/unloading if you rest your knees on the back bumper as I managed to push a parking sensor into the bumper with my knobbly knee cap!

What size bikes do you lot ride???

I have a Large Scott Spark 650b and I could never get it in my Cupra SC with the rear wheel on without sliding the front seats forward or forcing the handle bar through the rear screen.
It's tight in my wife's FR 5d with the rear on - not something I'd do unless I really had to.

Just take both the wheels off. It'll fit no problem and will be lighter so will be easier to get in without damaging anything.

I have a orange five in size large and I am just about able to fit in the back of my 5dr and keep the rear wheel on. I only have to roll the passenger front seat forward a bit.

I've a large Vitus Sentier. Front wheel off and it will fit in (just about) at an angle then when I'm finished riding both wheels are taken off for convenience to put it back in the car.

I have a 650b and put mine in the back all the time, it can be done with the back wheel on but boy it's not worth the messing around, take off both wheels and you will be fine. I keep 2 thick blankets in the back and put them over the tailgate to prevent a handlebar or shock's catching the trim/body work.
