MPG advice please

Hi

I am looking to buy a ibiza cupra in the next couple of weeks as a replacement for my Corsa Vxr Arctic. My car currently runs 260bhp and returns a rubbish 26 mpg at the very best but mostly an average of 22mpg

My options were a 120D for obvious reasons fuel economy but i think ill miss petrol so a new cpra it is, so could someone tell me if these are actually good on fuel and how many miles you get to a tank.

depends on how you drive tbh. I am in London so a lot of stop start and avg about 29MPG but guys outside the city who have nice open road runs are averaging rouphly high 30's and some even early 40's.

Mine see's high 30s low 40s and it's only got 400 odd miles on it (1.4 TSi)

as above on my 110 mile return commute 3 times a week i average 39-42 mpg at around 75mph with cruise control on. Around town its around 30 ish, and when i boot it goes as low as about 20mpg
