How much should it cost to get a mufflerectomy on a mk2 leon tdi realistically??

Btcc kitted so would be dual exit and probably upgrade to 3.5" tips at the same time

Been quoted two completely different prices so unsure if one is underpriced or the other will be a complete bodge job

For the silencer delete your looking at a couple quid for half a meter of tube and two clamps another couple quid. Plus an hours labour at a garage ( average around 40 quid? ). I wouldn't pay more than 50-60 quid tops. Tbh it's that easy you can do it yourself on axel stands if you fancy saving yourself the labour.

I payed quite a lot to get mine done but depends what your after. If u just wanna mild steel and the put some tips on it then it won't cost u much. If u wanted a full stainless custom system them obviously will cost more.

What you could do if ur handy with a cutting disc and welder is drop the back box, cut it open from the top and remover the insides then re weld it up. Remover all restriction along with keeping the OEM look

How loud is it ? Been thinking of making myself one for a while.

Not loud at all. It's a nice note and the turbo sounds epic! There's a video on my build thread if u wanna take a look

Thats a custom exhaust I take it Benzy? It will cost a lot! Think this guy wants to just chop out his silencer so I wouldn't pay too much or it isnt worth it for the gain :) I don't know what it sounds like on a TDI but the silencer delete on a 2.0 tfsi sounded nice

I got quoted by a garage today 160, thats for two stainless slash cut tips and the welding for piping from the bpipe to the tips, seems expensive to me seeing i just noticed their website has the tips for £15 each! They said if i supply tips they will just charge an hour or so labour to weld up some piping

Justlooked on eBay and found 2.75 inch steel pipe at 7pounds forhalf meter and 10pounds for 45 degrees bent pipes. So I'm thinking I could get all I need for 40 quid! Can't imagine a garage would charge more than 40quid for welding. half price for the same product sounds good to me :)

Id say just get the garage to cut up and make the bends, they would order it in by the tonne and get it for next to nothing, the guy at the garage said i was only really buying the welders time, everything else is cheap enough, but iv a feeling he quoted me 40 a tail so hes trying to make a right few quid on them!

No gain really just better sound, and exhaust tips tha actually fill bumper the way theyr supposed

Booked in thursday for two 4" slash cut rolled tip exhaust tips/mufflerectomy, £170 all in its costing

You guys recon a exhaust place could cut a hole in ny bumper so u could have duel exit ? Luke the look if the fr style also 4 inch sound like the right size

Its a little deeper havent noticed a huge difference, has this nice deep grumble when you turn on the ignition but then the noise of the engine overpowers it from inside! Im sure it sounds good for people outside though!
