My 2 week old 07 FR in garage with serious problems- advice?

I got my new leon fr on christmas eve from seat dealer in Derby and on driving home to York realised that there was a really bad judder. Took in to local dealer and to cut a long story short it has up to now had a new fly wheel and clutch. This didnt solve the problem, so they sent off fault to seat and to summarise they have said it needs a new cylinder head, new fuel tank, lines and pump etc. Basically most componenents of a new engine and a 2k claim on warranty. Apparently it was in garage under warranty 5k ago for same thing done, but not done properlly. Not sure what i should do? Still have 15 days of exchange/money back to go. Or do i stick with the car after all the probloems in the hope it will be fixed properlly?

On one hand you'll know that the problems have been found and fixed, on the other you might have the Friday afternoon car, and you'll never had it working.

If it did fail again in the future, at least you'd be able to get it fixed, no matter whether it was in warranty or not. But unless you've got quite attached to the car, I'd be looking to walking away fairly soon.

Walk away and leave it in my opinion, it would always be in the back of my mind, and would be waiting for somthing to go wrong.

Not sure you would be able to get it fixed no matter what as its already a 3 year old car pretty much which means any warranty period on the car will be to the tune of whatever the dealer sold it with.

That said, I agree with your post otherwise.

Which means either an error on their part or they think you are going to ask for your cash back ;)

my wife just rang the seat dealer pretending to be interested in said car and they are claiming that the "owner is bringing it back because he doesnt like the colour"!!! Can you believe it? No mention of the thousands of pounds worth of problems it is currently in garage with!!

Lol. Defo hand the car back and advise SEAT UK I would say.

Of course, they may be using a pic of your car by mistake.

Wise words - Glad you said Cupra and not K1

haha whatever. Check out my readers ride thread. Have got the rear diffuser sprayed gloss black, not sure if I like it though, as it looks like I have no exhaust. Let me know what you think. :)

Picked my car up from them, that night eml comes on, the same night!!! :censored: ring them up take it back they say its fixed, it aint, same night again eml, not happy now. Take it back again same thing happens. by this point im properly hacked off [:@] as you can imagine this is like a week later. still not fixed. so take it back with a letter an tell them 2 fix it. takes them 2 weeks 2 work out that the maf sensors burnt out even though id asked them to check it the 1st time after advice from off scn. :wtf: so finally its gets fixed. 1 month down the line. and just various other things they refuse 2 fix under the warranty. so trust me m8 walk away ull thank yourself after. :)
