Sooo my day started nice and early at about 10 when my friend who is pretty darn good with cars turned up at my house!

I showed him the kit, and he'd never fit one before but after telling him about a garage asking for 120 for fitting we were determined to do it!

We jacked the car up and placed it on stands.... We began by first removing the alloys...

Now we got under the car and each proceeded with a lower arm.

We decided the best plan of action was to remove the entire arm from the car so we removed the ball joints aswell as the Walk replacement (not sure of actual name) and of course the bushing.

Although this sounds easy to do, the ball joint removal was one of the hardest things we ever did! Due to it being a 56 plate a lot of the car parts are set in their ways.... haha! After removing them we noticed that the seal had gone on both of them...so a quick call to my local car part supplier (euro fit) i got them at a friggin steal! 9 quid per ball joint!

NOW, from here we went to our local garage who had a gas axe..... we burnt the old bushing out with the help of the gas axe and a hammer/chisel! this took about 30 minutes for both arms! I bought the lads at the garage a 6 pack of stella as a thank you!

We placed the new W0503's into their new homes with plenty of grease supplied from whiteline! We used a work bench vice to get a snug fit.

NOW, for the fun/nightmare of refitting the entire lower arm. With new ball joints fitted and w0503's in place we proceeded to refit them in their respective place. Getting the bushings to sit in the housing proved to be quite a challenge which took us a good 40 minutes ( due to being on jack stands, probably an easy job if on a ramp)

Fitting the Walk was a piece of piss. The longest/hardest bit was getting the dam things to line up so we could re-bolt, this also took us a good 40- 60 minutes. Finally wheels back on, i took her for a spin up to the wheel alignment place (taking the long route to let them bed in....25 miles later) We arrived only to find they shut at 4.30. WHAT A DISSAPOINTMENT TO THE DAY!

Garage Quote.....120 with tracking

My cost ..... Stella cans = 4.80
2 ball joints = 18 (not strictly necessary for most)
Tracking = 25
30 quid thank you to my mate

40 QUID SAVING! :D (POTENTIALLY 58)

Havent had the greatest chance to fully thrash it out yet! Will answer that question in sayyyy 35 mins....

Cool, so im back!

Yeah, they do make a difference..... i took a roundabout at 60/70 to prove it..... (in a sensible area)

I also did worm like movements on the road (of course being safe whilst i did it)

My verdict....7/10

Pro's - Much nicer response when cornering, really like you feeling the corner....
- Ability to explode out of corners with full throttle
- Generally a nicer handling car and i havent even had it tracked yet!!
Con's- it's not a "HOLY HELL WHY HAVE I NOT BOUGHT THIS SOONER MOD"
- It's a ******* to fit if doing it yourself
- Potentially pricey for the gain!

sniper, have you got any uprated ARBs? If not I reccomend you get a stiffened up rear one (as my missus chuckles, dirty ho). I found it to sharpen it up nicely

Nah havent got round to ARBs , can you reccommend any!? Probably need front and back tbh!

well i've got the whiteline 24mm one, very good for road use ,i've got it set to the "middle" (3 way adjustable) setting but from what I can read you're going track day funtastic. AndrewJB mention to me that he was looking at getting a 32mm Seat Sport one from STR, would be good one on a racing car....

you'd need to be careful getting a really stiff front and rear set up though, too stiff at the front and understeer would be a killer, too stiff at the back and you'll be going round in circles.

Are you still going APR? if Y ask them what the best option would be

Are there any advantages to fitting just the Rear ARB over just a Front one for example?

Looking at the DPM site, they sell the Whiteline front and rear on their own, while Eibach ARBs are sold in pairs. Plus I imagine they are only a 10 minute job to fit, if that?

Thats a very nice review on the WALK kit Sniper. There's alot of talk about the kits, but not alot of owner reviews or feedback from those that might have them. Im also considering something like this, to help sharpen the steering response/traction around corners (from a safety perspective).

fitting a rear arb just stiffens the rear (as you would guess) this in term lessens understeer and promotes turn in. Damien at DPM will tell you the same (where I got mine).

If you were to go front and rear you would go for a stiffer set up all round which would be good for a nice flat/smooth race track but not so good on UK roads

Not so sure about the safety aspect faceless, it just makes you want to take corners and roundabouts at 60! haha
