Hey all!!

Just wanted to stick up a lil build up thread for my first visit to VAG. :D

So where to I start. About 6 months ago, I swapped a Civic Jordan for this 51 plate LC. Seemed okay at the time cambelt done, spare set of wheels, revo stage one re-map with sps switcher. Untill I got it home and noticed a few things. 4 wheel bolts missing, two illegal tyres, clutch slipping like
mad, dipstick tube broken and cambelt hadn't been changed.

So the leon has had a small fourtune spent on it since I have had it. Started with a new clutch as the release bearing had decided to spit all the brake fluid out of its self and contaminate the clutch plate, so this was all replaced, then I did the cambelt and water pump so it was all up to par.

Then being a 1.8T I had the coil pack of death come so replaced one of them after a lil working out what was going on, then a month later another one died. The joys!

Then was on to sorting the other lil bits out. Like giving it a fresh service and check over. At which point I found out the rear brakes had decided to stick on due to the handbrake cables sizing up. So a new set of cables and rear pads went in.

After this the other usual fault... Temp sensor was buggered. So this was replaced. All going well for a while until the thermostat went wrong... No replaced as well with some fresh G13 coolant.

Thats the faults sorted other then the N/S/F door lock being faulty and the boot lock... These are minor details as they still lock so all is well!!

On to the more interesting stuff!!!

I have done quite a few modifications to the leon since owning it. Once sorted all the faults I started with my mods. Which so far include:

-Cobra cat back resonated exhaust system
-Toyo sport downpipe and de-cat
-Apexi 30mm lowering springs, with new top mounts as were worn
-20mm wheel spaces for rear
-SIA removal with blanking plate etc.
-007 dump valve
-Boost gauge
-removal of dump valve control transducer
-Toyo sport front mount intercooler
-Pipercross air filter, Borrowed for now.
-Rear wiper conversion
-Rear tints to keep the worst of the sun off my lil boy.

I think that is about it atm...
Still have a few things to do like:

-Turbo intake pipe
-Breather pipes
-Stage two re-map
-New wheels (unsure of what yet)
-10mm spacers for front wheels
-Re do my vac piping so is all nice and tidy

That's all I can remember atm. I will upload pictures as soon as I can to this thread, so keep your eyes for updates to it.

Thank you for your time.
Jody.

nice thread bud!! looking good :) if you can get the k04 samco turbo pipe pipe to fit you can have it? have a look see if its been done?

A few pictures!!

This was the Leon before I got it, sent from the previous owner.

A few simple mods to start off with like removing the horrid floor mats and little things like rear wiper conversion, fitted a boost gauge with pillar, set of wind deflectors and a Forge 007 dump valve.

Then was on to some more time consuming mods, like cobra cat back exhaust, toyo down pipe, SAI removal and front mount intercooler.

Hope you like, will be more to come when I get some spare time to get things sorted!!

Thank you very much. Much more to do yet, got new breather pipes coming this week to finally replace the tapped up ones. So should eliminate the issues I have been having with the breather system.

I must admit when you titled your thread my first vag I was a little disappointed to not hear an epic tale full of sexual innuendo and double entendres! :(

Just kidding dude, nice work and welcome to the forum!

New bits!!

Got some new parts for the LC today mainly thanks to Creation Motorsport. Both my breather pipes which I'll fit tomorrow as couldn't be bothered today. Couple pic's before I stick them on. I also ordered a TIP but they rung me and informed me that they do not have any in blue atm so am having to wait a couple of weeks for them to have one in and send it out. Hopefully it will not take to long and will be ready for stage 2 mapping.

Also my third attempt at getting some decent number plate light bulbs have turned up, first ones melted, second ones have lasted a little while but one has died after a couple of months so now going to try these and see how I get on.

All fitted

Got my new parts fitted yesterday. Looking much more tidy in the engine bay now. Plus the LC might run a bit better now as it turns out my crank case breather pipe was blocked solid with that oily water muck!! Which I wasn't expecting when removing the old parts. Took a snap of it!

Here's the blocked pipe! Was blocked from the crack case up to the T pipe connector just before it pipes up to the rocker cover.

Another Job off the list!! Once this was done I went back to my annoying boost gauge buzz!! Once fitted I had a buzz from the boost gauge, I'm sure some of you will be able to relate to this. I was advised to get a 'anti buzz fitting' So I did. I could only find them as a T fitting which was no good for me as I needed a straight fitting. I got my hands on one any way to see if it cured my problem.

I wasn't happy with this. Once I had received my fitting to my horror I found out what it was and what it did which I could have simply made my self. So I did this weekend. I wish I had known this before because would have saved myself some money!! Be aware you can do it yourself don't need to spend the silly money for the fitting!!

I also found that I still got a little buzz from the fitting I purchased but since making my own and fitting it, I have found that it works better has eliminated the problem completely!! :D

Thanks for taking the time to look at this thread.

Thank you very much. More to come as I get the money for this and that. I would have loved to have gone for some Forge pipes but just can't justify the extra money for them. So am just waiting for my Creation Motorsport TIP then shall be looking at getting a new air filter as I have swapped that one with my mate for a while till I get hold of one. Unsure what to go for at the moment. Might just get a K&N filter and make a heat shield for it and get some cold air feed pipe to make use of my redundant fog light holes in the bumper.

Bonus!! If I could get them like that forge all the way!! You lucky sod!! Yeah, not a bad upgrade there!! That is a bonus though!! Any other goodies your getting??

The no buzz tee is the resistance...

You tee it into the vacuum piping off the fpr as its supposed to be the most accurate reading

Oh sorry I miss understood you. Really, you would have thought that if it was linked straight from the gauge to the inlet manifold, that would give you a more accurate reading as there is no interference between the pressure and the gauge?
