Well as promised in my other thread about deals on K1's from a few weeks back I have taken delivery of the one I settled on:

The pics were taken just after it had been treated to a paint correction by the guys at GTechniq which comprised a full machine polish, coating with their nanotech protection system, plus their glass treatment.

That made a huge improvement in the quality of the paint.

I have subsequently followed up with a couple of coats of Finish Kare 1000 sealant.

The car has also made a visit to AmD for one of their proprietary remaps, plus Eibach Sportline springs.

Performance is fantastic, and the ride is definitely no worse than stock, maybe even slightly better!!

Very happy with the results :D

no the pics were prior to the AmD visit, still looked like a 4x4 at this point.

Need to take some more now that the springs are on, it has made the ride height just about spot on for me.

Looking rather tasty!!

Are the springs on in the above pics?

The "paint correction" sounds an interesting process. Is it really necessary on a new car?
Can I please also ask how much it cost to have this full treatment.

I might be interested in having this done on mine. It's a Black FR, and it might help keep the finish looking mint for longer (especially as Black shows up scratches and inperfections more than other colours - also to prevent anything from happening in the first place!).

Is the K1 'standard' suspension setup any different to that of the FR?
(if it is, would you be interested in selling on your K1 Springs taken off your car)?

Thats one VERY nice Ride! [B)]

I'd love to see some after pics from the springs! I'm considering them myself!

the car had a few swirls from it's demo days, and I wanted to get rid of those, in principle a nearly new car should not need much correction, but I like to get as good a finish as possible... The cost is £425 plus VAT for a Leon sized car.

You will find that on a black car it will make a huge difference, more than I saw on mine. You will still need to be careful when washing the car but it will provide some protection from wash swirls.

The K1 is basically a Cupra so the suspension is that of a Cupra, I don't have the springs, I left them at AmD and they have probably been picked up as scrap already... sorry.

Thanks for the comment about the car :)

don't think the suit is required, I generally look a bit of a scruff bag and they let me test drive one at two different dealers.

But then I look older than most guys who would be interested in this sort of car ;)

wear a suit and take one for a blast lol
