Hey Guys, just letting you all know I'm joining the site properly now. Getting my 06 Ibiza Sport TDI (red) some stage this week and cant wait to get driving it.. looks like so much fun!! :D
I don't intend to do too much in regards to modding, as i'm quite the novice really, and not quite into the whole "spice boy" look of a car.. but i want it to be nice too... It has the sport kit, though, i want to get the black bump strips painted red. Inside is standard sport trim.. i have ordered a set of 4 seat belt covers (black with red "SEAT" writing), and head rest springs for the two front seats.. other than that ive nothing done..../

All Ideas Welcome guys!!! :D

Welcome and i hope your car purchase goes smoothly.

I agree with you that with the shape of the Mk4 less is sometimes more.

Chrome vent rings and TT pedal covers perhaps.

Hello and welcome to SCN firstly.

Secondly, good luck not modding it. It never happens.

Welcome :)
Good luck with your car. I hope you enjoy it!

I said I wouldnt mod my FR.... And 5 months later I've already started :p
Theres no doubt you will mod it sooner or later

Tell me about the mod bug i've had my FR for 2 weeks now and thanks to looking through this forum i've just ordered some coilies!

I was on a tight budget so was going for just springs but Damian at DPM persuaded me to go for coilovers (didn't take much doing) so i've gone for the APs. I just hope my back can cope with them!

haha thats what im ridin on mate. not 1 complaint about them. theyre really good.

i also bought them off DPM after some hard bargaining!

Carbon or Gloss black Vinyl

Un-decided on this really..

Gonna be doin my B-pillars in either, but unsure which one to go with.. Just ordered gloss black cupra wing mirror covers so would it look strange to have the pillars in carbon?

Went down to Mercedes Benz world the other day, and they have some of the Brabus Smarts with the side pillars covered in Di-Noc 3M Carbon vinyl. Looked good.

I considered doing this, however never went through with it. My main idea was to cover my wing mirror covers in the carbon vinyl, then lacquering over the top to remove the textured feel of the vinyl.

you cant lacquer over it, it ruins the vinyl and it just goes all black and loses the look of carbon, trust me i tried it as soon as the 3m di noc was made available

I have another option, which could be a little pricey, as I'd prob have to buy new pillar covers aswell. though it would look pretty smart.

I'd do gloss black personally. I'd also weigh up painting them in gloss black, depending on the cost of buying new ones + painting.

buying new ones and painting them could cost nearly £100.00, to get enough gloss black vinyl on ebay would be around the £5.00 mark... I'd go with the vinyl! lol

how about real carbon fibre though? not a vinyl. its glossy too
