My new project yes its still Spanish blood


I bought this Iveco Daily MWB back in may for motocross racing which I've just started entering for a club called Cosham
Its an 03 plate 2.3 16v engine

When i first bought this van it was a workhorse for a local construction company who basically done paving etc and was a right mess when i purchased

I spent about £200 on parts for it to replace things that was broken / missing (im a bit meticulous with these things i,e air vents interior grab handles etc )

Also replaced the side loading door roller & runners as the old one was fecked and full of stones and crap

Before i picked it up from the van sales place , i got them to put a fresh mot on there and sent the Mrs over with a heat gun to peel all the stickers of the van (previous owners company name and numbers etc ) while i went practising on my motocross bike ready for racing

As soon as i picked the van up on that Friday night , me and the Mrs smashed all the racking system up & out in the rear of the van and cleaned and swept the back out
Also gave the front cab area a valet with a wet n dry machine i borrowed of my uncle

We then went racing that following day armed with an airbed to make do!!! - And it was bloody freezing !!

So when i came back from racing i decided to insulate the van to make it warmer as my little boy would start coming to racing soon
So i popped by B&Q one day to find they had a leak in the roof and was selling off damp loft insulation @ 50p a roll so it cost me about a pound to insulate it out , i ended up throwing the rest out as i bought to much of it

A few weeks later i bought some vinyl flooring from a local carpet shop to line it out ready for the conversion to start taking shape , also got the Mrs to cut this out surprisingly she has more patients than me

I then hunted around for someone to cut and fit bonded windows in both sides for me , i found a place in Cardiff who done me a deal @£260 for the both windows including fitting

A few days later i sent the van up to a local tinting company for some limo black tint for £60 for some privacy

I had also just bought a very cheap caravan as a donor for £100 to use the parts out of , a nice 6 berth caravan which i was in two minds to keep it rather than strip ,

I also took advantage of halfords latest deals and bought a dvd player with the small screen build into the head unit and fitted a reverse camera the same time total cost of this was £120


Also went to dorset steam fair at the end of august , in the autojuble they had there was a honda gx160 generator which a gypsie was selling from a house clearance ( i bet !!) he only wanted £20 for this thing which we couldnt get started

when i fetched it home i realised there was no oil in it (they dont start without the right level of oil ) and put a new plug in , started on the first pull , so thanks very much for a very cheap genni which go on the bay for £150 plus !!!



Also took the Polystyrene roof insulation out of the caravan and glued it to the van roof for a bit more warmth

last weekend i went and bought a load of wood and materials to stark kicking on with the van ,

and started making a box section to keep my bike in will in transport / at the track where you wont see the bike /smell and petrol dirt mud etc

so started measuring up and got on with the design that we created , basically took us two days to come up with this

This will be fitted where the bike is

also thought about extra storage

also bought a tv /dvd combi from commet which actually runs off 12v

also bought a digital tv ariel which dont require power to boost signal its just sticks to the side of the van as its magnetic , to get to use the freeview thats built into the tv

last race 2weeks ago everyone crowded around to watch the xfactor with a few cans !
