My Seat Ibiza 1.2S 5 door 2002

Hi all, just joined I got a 1.2S 5 door Ibiza in black.
Its had 1 owner from new with a full service history.
When I bough the car it only had 1 mth MOT left so I took it for a new one yesterday.

Sweet your car sounds very similar to mine, mines a 5 door 1.2 S too

I see you're from Swansea, went down there last month, really nice place. Saw lots of SEATs too

Cheers yeah Swansea's nice did you visit the Mumbles great there when the sun is out.
Top night life in Swansea too, although I'm getting a bit old for that now.

Just to let you all know she failed the MOT on 2 things emisions & a noise from the rear brake drum.
The emisions turned out to be a plug down so I changed all 3.
The noise was a broken spring, that also sorted now.
I also changed the oil & filter & air filter the same time.
Am I right in thinking its got a cam chain & not a cam belt?

The next juob is the driver window it makes a noise but it don't move so I've ordered a new regulator from Partco £55 +Vat.

Yeah I did matey, went by boat around that area went all over really, Rhoselli is very nice, it was roasing when we went, I really like Swansea

How long you had the car buddy? If its not long i'd be tempted to contact the seller as you've had to fork out money on it as soon as you bought it (unless you knew anyway)

I only bought it on Wednesday, Ibought it trade & took a chance, I'm very tempted to fit alloys as they would make the car look beter, unless I sel it first lol.

Well let's hope you don't have to sell it mate some nice SX alloys would be nice if you were to keep it, i got mine from fleabay for £150 which i thought was pretty good

It has a chain.

The tensioner and guides were modified on later cars so you might want to think about getting that done if it's never been updated (I don't know of there's any way you can tell).

I read on here if you use decent oil the problem will become less likely, I took that advice and i'm on 90k and no problems here at all

Like I say i'm on 90k and I havent done mine yet its perfect here

I suppose it depends if the car has been looked after tbh, i would get it checked out myself but it's up to you.

Well guys I can't seem to get it through on emmisions. It has a fault code on No.3 cylinder it has a misfire & the engine manegement light keeps coming on, fitted a new coil pack & the fault is still there, swapped the injectors & the fault is still there, swappen plug & coil from cylinder 1 & the fault still persists.
I even checked the temp switch & thats fine.
I'm lost so I think I'll stick it in the auctions tomorrow night seems like I've opened a can of worms.

Have you tried VAG com? That will tell you more detailed info mate

Thanks for your help but it sold at auction, someone has had either a headache or a bargain It only went for £1350.
