mystery ticking

2002 20VT Ibiza

I have had an annoying ticking noise. it happens more often than not - approx twice a second. it can be heard driving with the window down and seems to get slightly quicker with speed?

Look in the engine compartment. On the left, directly behind the washer bottle - that's the culprit. What is it? Any idea what the ticking is? and is it serious?

I am getting a service in a few weeks so will ask then but any thoughts would be appreciated.

its normal, and has been asked many time before for more info

although usually cant hear it when driving
