I'm replacing the N112's with resistors tommorow...but I don't want to be getting the engine light coming on. I don't mind if a fault code appears but don't want the EML to come on (mainly for when I come to sell up)

I think I've read a couple of people have the light, but some people don't even get fault codes. I just want to see what side effects people have after doing the resistor mod?

I will be leaving the SAI in place and blocking it's vacuum if that makes any difference..?

Thanks.

yea had it come on two or three times int the first month but scince i just keept clearing the code and turning the light out it hasnt done it any more for about two months

havent completely removed it yet tho

definitely think it's worth doing... i can put up with the light- car runs so much better now. before i was having limp mode problems, fluctuating boost etc. now it runs much crisper, always full boost, really good log results etc. doesn't cause me any other problems. and im certainly not considering selling the car for a long time!

cool, I'm going to do it anyway. Had mine 5 years now and haven't got any plans to sell up but having the EML on won't help if i do. I may end up keeping the ibiza as a weekend play thing and getting something more "accountant-ish" soon lol

The two valves on the top are the n112 and n249 not both n112. I have removed both and replaced with resistors and get no codes or lights. I also have the SAI plumbed out vac lines wise but still plugged in electronically and I get a fault for incorrect flow from it but its just a code and does not bring on the eml.

n249 removed but the n112 just sits there on it own at the mo nowt in or out of if

Mine's been like that for ages and ages and I've never had a fault code or anything so (hopefully) when I get the resistors in it shouldn't notice any difference and I won't get a code...

isn't the n249 the big black plastic reservoir? I thought both the small valves were n112's....?

Dont think so. The black reservoir is controlled by one of the valves on top which the ecu calls a n249. The n249 bypass bypasses one of the valves on top and leaves the other plugged in. When testing my resistors etc the ecu logged a fault of intermittent signal from n112 and n249 and the vavles I had moved were the two on top, plugged them back in and no codes. The black reservoir was long gone.
