I did it. Felt absolutely no improvement whatsoever. Dump valve made a funny noise on dump (not chatter or anything, just a "crack noise on lifting off the throttle). So I undid the bypass. Funny noise gone, car feels exactly the same.

I think all this stuff about N249 bypass is BS to be honest, plus if it didn't need to be there then VAG wouldn't have put it on.
 
fair enough, i was unsure anyway because i didnt want to be cutting pipes and sticking bolts down them to block them off like in the guide, to be honest in my opinion there is now way it can be better for engine to bypass it, id love to see and hear the reason behind doing it on a high performance 300+bhp LCR
